Restore & Protect Your Smile

Dental fillings repair cavities, stop tooth decay from progressing, and help restore the strength and function of your tooth.

Dental Fillings in Sherwood Park

Dental fillings are a safe and effective way to treat cavities and restore teeth affected by decay. When a cavity develops, the damaged portion of the tooth is carefully removed and replaced with a durable filling material to help protect the tooth and prevent further damage.

At Emerald Hills Dental Centre, we provide comfortable, natural-looking fillings designed to restore the strength, function, and appearance of your smile. Contact our team today to book an appointment.

Sign You May Need a Dental Filling

Dental fillings can be used to treat cavities, repair small chips, and restore areas of a tooth that have become worn or damaged. Addressing these issues early helps protect your tooth, maintain a healthy smile, and reduce the risk of more complex treatment in the future.

Tooth‑Coloured Composite Fillings

At Emerald Hills Dental Centre, we primarily use tooth-coloured composite fillings to restore teeth affected by decay or minor damage. These fillings are carefully matched to the natural shade of your teeth, creating a seamless appearance while restoring strength and function.

Composite fillings bond directly to the tooth structure, helping preserve more of your natural tooth while providing durable, long-lasting results. They are an excellent option for treating small to moderate cavities and maintaining a natural-looking smile.

Depending on your needs, other filling materials may also be recommended. Our team will discuss your options and help you choose the solution that is right for your smile.

What to Expect During a Dental Filling Procedure

Your comfort is our priority. Before beginning treatment, your dentist will take time to explain each step so you feel informed and at ease. The dental filling process typically involves:

Applying a numbing gel followed by a local anesthetic to ensure your comfort

Removing the infected portion of the tooth using a dental handpiece

Preparing the cavity with an acid gel for 10–15 seconds

Rinsing and applying a bonding agent

Air‑drying and light‑curing the bond with a UV light

Placing the composite filling material in thin layers
(2 mm or less)

Curing each layer with a UV light

Shaping and polishing the filling to ensure a comfortable bite and natural feel

The result is a strong, smooth restoration that blends beautifully with your smile.
