COMMON DENTAL EMERGENCIES
TIPS FOR DENTAL EMERGENCIES
Aching teeth can often be a sign of infection, thoroughly clean the area by rinsing your mouth with warm water and using floss to remove any food particles. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your mouth or cheek to ease pain and help with swelling.
Retrieve the tooth if possible and wash off the root using water. Make sure to not remove any tissue fragments. If you cannot place the tooth back in the socket, put the tooth in a small container of milk and visit your dentist as soon as possible.
Chipped or broken tooth
Save any pieces of the tooth that you can. Rinse out your mouth with warm water and apply gauze to the area if it is bleeding. Use a cold compress to reduce pain and swelling.
Partially dislodged tooth
You can relieve pain temporarily by using a cold compress or taking an over-the-counter pain reliever.
